Irrigation TEchnician

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Install, monitor, and test new systems

• Troubleshoot and repair any irrigation problem thrown your way

• Evaluate overall operations of irrigation systems

• Work closely with office staff to generate daily invoices and customer correspondence

• Conduct and record detailed inspections and plan/execute upgrades of customer systems

MUST-HAVES

• Valid AZ drivers license

• Bilingual English/Spanish and ability to create and read site map colored charts/legends

• Good knowledge of all types of timers, irrigation equipment, multi-meters, wire locators, and pipe sizing

• Ability to safely operate small equipment such as trenchers and skid steers

• Good knowledge of laws, license scope, and permits relating to irrigation

IT HELPS TO HAVE

• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment such as a backhoe

• Ability to do material take-offs

• Supervisor experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lift and carry up to 80 lbs
• Bend and kneel up to 12 hours or more a day
• Excessive walking, sometimes uphill and on uneven terrain, often while carrying, pushing, or pulling equipment or materials
• Safely operate power equipment, including but not limited to powered jackhammers and trenchers
• Work hours may exceed 12 hours per day
• Work in extreme heat
• Noise level may be loud at times and use of ear plugs may be required
